David Thomas Redd was born in Cardigan, West Wales, on January 14th, 1946.

His father was Dr. Raymond Redd, Chemistry master at Haverfordwest Grammar School and his mother was Elizabeth Carmen Kinsey Redd, Biology teacher at Whitchurch Secondary School.

Married to Meriel, currently a receptionist at a local comprehensive school, David has two grown up children and one grandson. He lives in Haverfordwest with Meriel and their two dogs, Georgie and Mog. See photo. He has lived and worked in the beautiful countryside of West Wales nearly all his life, and believes it to be one of the nicest places to live or visit and has no intention of moving elsewhere.

David worked in Civil Engineering until his retirement in 2004, working in the construction of various motorways, roads, bridges, motorway message signs and also in the construction of oil refineries in Pembrokeshire. Civil Engineering has taken David to various locations across the UK during his 40 year career. For David’s C.V., click here.

David has also published, on average, one short story per year in his favourite genre of Science Fiction - click on the Bibliography link above.

His fifteen minutes of fame came in 2001 when David and Meriel made it into the hot seats with Chris Tarrant on ITV’s “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire”. See photo.
